Calorie count on pub drinks

The UK Health Department has plans afoot to require pubs with 250 employees or more – in other words, all major pub chains – to publish information about the calorie content of all drinks.

According to The Sun which broke the story, menus or even pump labels would have to carry the information. Public Health Minister Jo Churchill has told colleagues she wishes to launch a 12-week consultation on the plans.
