New whisky distillery at Portavadie

An application has been submitted for a new Scotch whisky distillery at Portavadie on the Corwal Peninsula in Argyll and Bute, reports Scottish Construction Now.

Lead architects for the project are the team at Organic Architects which has designed numerous craft whisky distilleries which seem to combine the best of the old and new in their plans.

According to Scottish Construction Now, Portavadie Distillers and Blenders Ltd is the company building the distillery. A £15 million Investment is being made by Piccadily Agro Industries Ltd., the largest independent malt spirit distiller in India. Piccadily are part of the growing Indian premium whisky movement, they are the makers of the Indri single malt which has recently won accolades and awards.
