Haig Club announces Mediterranean Orange

Diageo’s Haig Club, best known for its connection with David Beckham, says it is launching Mediterranean Orange, which will be marketed to new and perspective whisky spirit consumers.

Mediterranean Orange has a “distinctive blend of fresh and juicy marmalade orange flavours with signature scotch whisky notes”, says Diageo.

Beckham says that the concept has been in the works for some time and that he was involved in selecting the final liquid.

“The orange perfectly complements the signature Scotch notes of Haig Club and it’s a great long drink for summer,” says Beckham.

Violeta Andreeva, whisky marketing director for Diageo, says: “We see this as a huge opportunity to recruit a new generation of drinkers as more and more consumers are choosing flavours and sweeter drinks.”

Mediterranean Orange will first be sold at Waitrose on 12 April and then a week later at all UK major supermarkets.
