Ad Gefrin, the world-class visitor experience and whisky distillery in Northumberland, introduces an unparalleled opportunity for its esteemed Corenkyn members with the launch of the exclusive ‘Cask Sale’ initiative.
Corenkyn, named after the Old English words for ‘chosen’ and ‘family,’ is Ad Gefrin’s founding membership package. Members benefit from lifetime access to the exhibition and distillery tours and recognition within the fabric of the building in perpetuity.
It also includes the ownership of an inaugural collection of their exclusive Corenkyn Blend, being the first to enjoy the Single Malt Whisky, having early bird access to any of Ad Gefrin’s spirit launches, bespoke gifts, and of course being a special guest at a calendar of events – like the cask sale.
Now, a year since they launched their very first spirit (Tácnbora Blended Whisky), Ad Gefrin extends an extraordinary opportunity to its Corenkyn members—the chance to take ownership of a limited release of casks of the renowned Ad Gefrin single malt through the ‘Cask Sale’ initiative.
To launch, an exclusive Corenkyn Yule Gathering took place Thursday 30th November, where casks were available to purchase in person. Predominantly a festive celebration of the Ad Gefrin ‘chosen family’, reflecting on their opening year and the journey they have collectively been on, as well as the opportunity to talk to distillers. Corenkyn can still purchase casks post event, contacting Ad Gefrin in person, on the phone, or email but casks are limited to just 100.
The selected cask, available in Ex Bourbon or Oloroso Sherry options, will remain on-site, maturing and evolving over 10 years—an immersive experience reflecting the growth and spirit of Ad Gefrin itself. Annual visits will grant an exclusive look into the cask’s progress, allowing for a deeper connection to Ad Gefrin’s collective provenance.
- Ex Bourbon Casks: Estimated capacity of 200 litres, £4,800.
The staple of the whisky industry, and for good reason. These casks, having done their job in America, come to Ad Gefrin where they unlock the deeper and rounder notes of American oak, allowing them to infuse the spirit with hints of vanilla, honey, spice and stone fruits.
- Oloroso Sherry Casks: Estimated capacity of 250 litres, £6,500.
These casks are seen by many as the best casks. Sought after by whisky distilleries all over the world, these casks will provide deep colour and flavour to Ad Gefrin’s new make spirit. Imparting notes of spice, dried fruit, figs and almond.

Included in the cask purchase:
– Approximately 200 or 250 litres (dependent on cask size purchased) of Ad Gefrin new make spirit filled at circa 63.5% ABV
– Sample of new make spirit to taste on filling
– Annual visits to see the cask and engage with Ad Gefrin distillers
– 100ml sample taken every year after the third year of maturation
– Certificate of ownership
– 10 years of storage (under bond) and insurance
