Ad Gefrin Distillery to release new Corengyst Blend Whisky

Ad Gefrin, the renowned Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, is delighted to introduce a new whisky blended in Northumberland, the Corengyst Blend, available exclusively to its Corengyst members.

The first batch release will debut for Corengyst on 28th November 2024. This release marks the first exclusive offering for those holding an annual pass to the distillery and a milestone in Ad Gefrin’s commitment to offering unique, heritage-rich experiences.

The Corengyst Blend is a masterful mix of malt and grain whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, England, and Scandinavia. Each component has been carefully matured in a combination of Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, and Virgin Oak casks, before being artfully blended by Ad Gefrin distillery in Northumberland. The result is a whisky that embodies the spirit of Northumbrian hospitality enjoyed by the favoured guests who once gathered at the Royal Palace of Gefrin 1400 years ago — a place of gathering, feasting, celebration, and peace.

Priced at £45 and bottled at 43.9% ABV, Batch 01 of the whisky will be available to purchase in person by members at Ad Gefrin and launched online in due course.

Corengyst Membership – A Gateway to Heritage and Exclusivity

The Corengyst annual membership, priced at £40, offers more than just access—it is a passport to a year of exceptional experiences. Members enjoy year-round access to Ad Gefrin’s museum and distillery tours, special member-only releases (such as the Corengyst Blend), and a 10% discount on in-person and online purchases.

In celebration of the festive season, Corengyst gift vouchers are now available to purchase in-person and online, offering the perfect present for whisky lovers and history enthusiasts. For an even more memorable gift, Ad Gefrin will be offering the opportunity for a bottle of Corengyst Blend to be purchased alongside a new membership voucher, combining heritage, hospitality, and premium whisky in one remarkable experience.

To mark the launch of the Corengyst Blend, Ad Gefrin is hosting a members-only tasting event on Thursday 28th November at the distillery. From 5pm to 9pm, Corengyst members and their guests can enjoy an evening filled with festive cheer, including live music, a Yule-themed shopping event, and seasonal treats from local producers. The event is complimentary for members and one guest, with new members gaining immediate access to purchase the exclusive Corengyst Blend.

Ben Murphy, Director of Distillery at Ad Gefrin, shared, “As we approach our second anniversary, Corengyst Blend is a heartfelt thank you to our members. It is a celebration of the enduring legacy of Northumbrian hospitality, a spirit that has welcomed and united people for centuries. We are honoured to share this special release with those who have joined us on our journey.”
